Ripe For Revival’s Mobile Market Program takes our mission on the road by utilizing large buses and trailers that have been transformed into pay-what-you-can retail markets.
The Mobile Markets provide access to fresh and local food to areas that are considered “food deserts” while placing a strong focus on health and nutrition education, economic development, and empowerment of communities across North Carolina.
The Mobile Market is open to everyone and operates on a pay-what-you-can model. Community members enter the market, grab a shopping bag (or bring their own), and select fresh produce and locally sourced foods. Prices are set approximately 20–30% lower than the average grocery store to provide flexibility and access.
At checkout, a Mobile Market Associate will share a suggested total, and each shopper is invited to pay what they can. Community members are also encouraged to pay it forward to help support a neighbor. At the Mobile Market, community supports community.
